Wait more for WhatsApp Payment Service

WhatsApp may have to wait for the BHIM UPI payment service. WhatsApp, by June-July this year, can meet the requirement of users to store payment data in India and contact the Reserve Bank to get fresh approval from Offer India. This service pilot project is running with 1 million, or 10 million users. Google Pay number one in the Payment Service Providers market followed by Paytm, PhonePe, BHIM and Axis Pay.

RBI had issued a circular on April 6, 2018, saying that all system providers have to store data related to the payment system in India, which should have full end-to-end transaction details. According to reports, WhatsApp will contact RBI in July. Prior to this, he will meet the need to store user’s payment data in India.

WhatsApp Will be included in, payment service race!

India is an important market for WhatsApp. The company is already much ahead of providers like Google, Paytm and PhonePe but she wants to join the race again. WhatsApp does not want to leave this opportunity. During March 2019, there were 800 million UPA-related transactions of over 1.33 lakh crore rupees in India.

This is very interesting. I often wondered how whatsapp was planning to bring in revenue. Last I read was about facebook wanting to focus on its messenger services. It will be very interesting to see how the public will respond to this
